PART A

1.(a). Define shear force and bending moment?

   (b). What are the conditions for static equilibrium?

   (c). Derive the relation between load,shear force and bending moments?

2. A cantilever beam fixed at A carries a uniformly distriuted load of 2kN/m for the whole sqan and a concentrated load of 5kN at 2m from A. span AB is 4m.Draw the bending moment and shear force diagram.Also calculate the bending moment and shear force at concentrated load point.

3.A cantilever of length 6m carries 2 point loads of 2kN and 3kN at a distance of 1 m and 6m from the fixed end respectivily. Alsothe beam carries a uniformly distributed load of 1kN/m over a length of 2m at a distance of 3m from the fixed end. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams.
PART B

4. A simply supported beam of length 8m carries a point load of 4kN and 6kN  at the distance of 2m and 4m from the left end . Draw the SF and BM diagram for the beam. 

5. A simply supported beam of length 10m carries a point loads of 30kN and 40kN at distance of 3m and 7m from the left end . Draw the SF and BM diagram for the beam.

6.Explain theory of simple bending with assumptions?
